Jobs at the North Pole

We are having so much fun during our counselor visit time in kindergarten this cycle.  We read, "How Santa Got His Job" by Stephen Krensky and brainstormed all the different jobs that might be needed at the imaginary North Pole.  Students then drew a picture of themselves doing one of those jobs and wrote about it too. This has been a fun way to learn about careers in our community, talk about the importance of good citizenship, and enjoy a holiday story too.  Careers chosen by Hansen students include:  a painter for the sleigh, a chef for the elves, a toy tester (one of our favorites), a teacher for the elves, and a security guard for the sleigh full of toys.  And that's just to name a few!
